Why Ocean Beauty?

Clint and Laurie Carter were on their honeymoon on the Long Beach peninsula. They fell in love with the area and thought it would be a great place to live and start a new life.   There was a restaurant for sale on the Port of Ilwaco.  They  got the idea to go into the restaurant business. With some research, they found out the locals wanted a place with good fish and chips, so with that, they made a bid on the old Galley restaurant and left their home in Yakima Valley, Washington to start a new.

Now The Imperial Schooner Restaurant has been in business for 9 years.  In July they will have sold 50,000th “3 piece orders” of their fabulous cod fish and chips! And all that fish came from Ocean Beauty.

The Imperial Schooner at the Port of Ilwaco has great food as well as a perfect view of the port. They serve only breakfast and lunch.  They feature gluten free clam chowder, breads and you can even have gluten free fish and chips.  You have to try the oyster specials.  Customers can build their own plate, choose sides and have their oysters fried or grilled.  They can choose from house batter, cornmeal, dipped in buttermilk, chicken fried or Cajun style.   How about angels on horseback? (Oysters wrapped in bacon) just to name a few of the delicious seafood items they serve, as well as burgers and sandwiches and blues inspired breakfasts.

Clint and Laurie are very involved in the community.  They both are part of the Peninsula Player Theater Group.  They are involved with the Ilwaco Merchants and help put on the Blues and Seafood event the second weekend in August.

Clint also plays in the band “North Coast Blues”.
