Bristol Bay Economic Development Corporation

The Bristol Bay Economic Development Corporation (BBEDC) is a non-profit community development quota corporation (CDQ) that provides jobs, training and educational opportunities to CDQ-eligible residents of Bristol Bay, and economic development tools and resources for communities in the region. Salmon Camp is just one example of BBEDC educational outreach. Each summer Bristol Bay students from grades 6-12 can earn college credit at the Salmon Camp on Lake Aleknagik. Students learn about salmon biology, stream ecology and water quality, fisheries management and lots more, catching and tagging salmon, and take visits to spawning areas.
