New Orleans Inspired Barbeque Shrimp

NOLA BBQ Shrimp

Ingredients

  • ½ lb of Ocean Beauty 13/15 P&D Tail on Shrimp
  • 2 Tbsp Olive oil
  • ½ Shallot, diced
  • 3 Cloves Garlic, diced
  • ½ Cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • ½ Lemon, sliced into thin coins
  • ½ Lemon, juiced
  • 5 Sprigs Thyme
  • ¼ Cup White Wine
  • ½ Cup Chicken Stock
  • 1 ½ Tbsp Heavy Cream
  • 3 Tbsp Cold Unsalted Butter, sliced into pats
  • Green Onions for garnish
  • Rice, noodles, or toast points for serving.

New Orleans Inspired Barbeque Shrimp

  1. In a pot, heat oil over medium high heat.
  2. Sauté shallots and garlic until soft.
  3. Add pepper, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, Cajun seasoning, wine and chicken stock.
  4. Boil until reduced by half.
  5. Strain the sauce.
  6. Add the strained sauce back to your pan and bring to a boil.
  7. Add your shrimp and lemon slices to the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes (until cooked through, 120 degrees F.)
  8. Add cream and swirl until combined. Reduce for 2 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat and add sliced butter 1 slice at a time until mixed (keep moving constantly!)
  10. Serve over rice, noodles or with bread. Garnish with green onions.
