From late April to mid August,
Ocean Beauty's Naknek Production Facility processes millions of
pounds of salmon from the world's largest red salmon run, as well
as local herring. The Naknek plant operates 24 hours a day, 7
days a week at peak fishing times, producing everything from bulk
frozen fish to specialty products.
Located in Bristol Bay on Alaska's
southwestern coast, Naknek swells to about 7,000 people during
the commercial fishing season. Recreational opportunities abound,
with several national parks and outstanding game and sportfishing
in the area. Local or nearby services include a first-class airport,
medical clinic, post office and grocery store. |
